Seven years ago in 2006, Robert Miles won $5 million with a lottery ticket that he purchased. But when he went to the store to establish his winnings, the store owner's son told Miles that the ticket was only worth $5,000.
At the time, Miles was struggling financially and he filed for bankruptcy two years after the episode with the lottery ticket.
Jump ahead to last year and guess what, the son of the store owner tried to turn the lottery ticket in for the $5 million winnings. He was caught, convicted and sentenced. But this isn't the son's story. I don't even care to mention his name.
This story should belong to Robert Miles who rightfully won the lottery. He is a survivor who managed to get through life without his just reward.
It's obvious Miles should be awarded his winnings. The case went to court, the judge hammered his gavel and the New York lottery officials should do the right thing. Why is there a hold on cutting the man his check for five million dollars?
In my view, judgement for the victim! Give Robert Miles his lottery check! Stat!
