A new study from the Economic Policy Institute shows that CEO salaries have increased more than 54% since 2009, while employee salaries have not shown growth in the same period of time.
Honestly, I don't care how much money a CEO makes each year. I'm happy that someone has a salary of millions of dollars. That's great news.
The problem I have is for the average employee who is struggling to pay for housing and food for his or her family.
The CEO I love and want to work for is Dan Price, the founder of Gravity Payments. He is raising the minimum wage at his company to $70,000 a year for ALL of his employees.
Do you know how dramatically that is going to improve the lives of his employees? He has to cut his own salary in order to do this, but his company is going to grow out of respect for his business model. He takes care of his employees. Look at the reactions from his employees... priceless.
