Rejected 44 Times... Now Published?

Author John Spurling's novel The Ten Thousand Things was rejected 44 times before it was published by The Overlook Press.

Now, Spurling has won 25,000 pounds (almost $39,000 in U.S. dollars) in a literary prize for the same novel.

The novel has excellent reviews online.

Spurling has written other novels as well.

This just goes to show every author that it is possible to publish a book.  Rejection is only a part of the process.  The most important thing is to share your stories, find an outlet, find a publisher or publish on your own.  And continue writing.  One book sells the next.

Tippin' my hat to author John Spurling for not giving up...and to the publisher who saw his value as a writer!
