The Cost of Visiting Every Country

There are 196 countries in the world and one man visited every single country.

The man's name is Albert Podell.  He used to work as an editor at Playboy Magazine.

Podell has written a book about his adventures traveling to all of the countries and it's available on Amazon:  Around the World in 50 Years.

I commend Mr. Podell for achieving his dream of traveling the world.

Most people liked the book and recommend to buy it, but 12% didn't like the book.

If you know me by now, I always read the negative reviews first before making a purchase.

One of one-star reviewers said Podell lost him when he talked about eating the brain of a live monkey.  WHAT?!

Another reviewer with more stars claims Podell had lapses in ethics which included stowing away on trains to avoid paying the customary fares and begging for food despite having sufficient funds to buy.  WHY?

All of this brings to me the high cost of visiting every country in the world.  It's not about money.  It's about ethics.  And it's about choice.  I'm not going to eat the brain of a live monkey and I'm not going to avoid paying fares or begging for food.

While I'm certain there are some powerful photographs in the book, enjoy it for me.  I just can't read about doing that to live animals.

For me, it's back to Amy Schumer and a little bit of comedy...
