Destroying Co-Workers 101

This is how far we've come in the corporate world.

We're now being advised by people who have been successful in destroying their co-workers.

Look at this list on Cracked.  At first, you may take it as a joke but I've seen people do everything but number five on the list to destroy their co-workers and/or employees:  gain their trust, create conflict, empower their worst ideas and feed misinformation.

It isn't just Cracked taking a crack at this topic, there are other business/career websites advising you what to do and what not to do or say.

There are childish work environments that exist across the board in different corporations.  And some employers attempt to destroy their employees.

The topic is being discussed anonymously on certain job boards such as Reddit.  There are fear based environments being created because if you realize you're being asked to spy on a co-worker, it's possible you will be spied on next.

Employees and co-workers are being destroyed intentionally and it's being encouraged by certain bosses.

Fortunately, most of my bosses over the years have been fabulous, encouraging and fair.

But I've also worked in environments where certain employees have been sent to spy on other employees and report back to the boss.  If the boss creates this situation, it festers in the rest of the company.

This approach is bizarre to me but apparently by the number of articles generated online on this topic, it's more common than I thought.

What happened to team play?  What happened to working together?  What happened to putting the client first?

There are even revenge websites where they'll carry out deeds against co-workers for you... anonymously.  Is revenge funny?

Let's go back a few decades when people played slightly nicer in the sandbox.  Back to a time of little more levity, great music, comedy and kindness.

I have no idea when our country took a turn to the dark side, but it's affecting the work environment and stripping people of the ability to have a livelihood.  I also believe it affects our health long-term.

I always vote for good health.  And good health comes from helping each other.  Supporting each other.  And being generous with kindness.  Try it... you might like it.

If not... revenge is just around the corner... and so is poor health.
