A Nice Deed Is Shocking

This is the world we live in.

There's far more bad news than good news.

When a kind deed comes along, we rejoice as we're overwhelmed.

Take the story about Officer Sam Brownlee.  He was killed in the line of duty in a shootout in 2010.

His service vehicle just came up for auction.  At the beginning of the auction, the auctioneer told everyone that the Blue Book value was only $12,500.  But all proceeds would go to charity to support families of slain police officers.

Watch this video.  In the front of the room is Officer Brownlee's son, Tanner.  He is wearing an orange shirt and he joins in the early rounds of the bidding.  After the 5:00 minute mark, the car's bidding has reached an extreme amount.  It's clear the car means a great to the officer's son, but there's no way he can afford to out-bid the high bids.

What happens next is one for the miracles of movies... in this case, it was reality.

The car sold for an astounding $60,000.  And handing the keys to the son of the slain officer was an incredible gift.  Tippin' my hat to Steve Wells, the Colorado rancher with the winning bid.  A kind deed, my friend, a kind deed.
