Honesty Is the Worst Thing You Can Do For Your Career

Rat cop.

The last time I heard that label was from the movie "The Departed."

But this is the real life story about former Baltimore Detective Joe Crystal.

The Huffington Post shared Crystal's story.

Crystal spoke up and told the truth about his co-workers...

Now he can't get a job.

Cenk Uygur, host of The Young Turks, covered the story

Here's my take on the story.

Telling the truth is the right thing to do... however... think twice before you speak up because you could lose everything including your ability to support your own family.

Sadly, whatever job you're in, you can never tell the truth about the shenanigans of co-workers, even if it's illegal or unethical, because it will cost YOU your job.

The culture of policing is similar to corporate America...except with the police, someone can be injured or lose their life.

In corporate America, you lose your livelihood if you tell the truth.  Honesty gets you nowhere but the unemployment line.  This is the world we live in today.

In my opinion, Joe Crystal is a hero cop.  And someone should hire him immediately.
