Everyone Searches Ashley Madison Hack... Including Teenagers

This may come as a shocker.  But I learned something huge from Reddit tonight.

So, I've been reading about the Ashley Madison / Adult Friend Finder hack of information in the mainstream media. Every media outlet from ABC and CNN to the Washington Post and New York Times seems to have a story about it.

It's a fascinating story, right?  The hacks of websites seem to be far too common these days. It seems that nothing is truly 100% anonymous anymore.

At first, I thought it was no big deal because only techies can understand or decipher a huge data dump file.  In other words, you'd have to hire someone very smart, technical, and computer savvy in order to see if someone you love has been active on one of those cheating/dating/affair sites.

But today the media made it much easier for the layperson.  In fact, the mainstream media released the website link to search emails that have been compromised by the Ashley Madison or Adult Friend Finder website hack.

Lots of sources are confirming that typing in any email for a check does produce accurate results: http://www.trustify.info/check

So, wives are checking their husbands...and vice versa.

Women are checking their boyfriends...and vice versa.

Everyone is checking their significant other... and vice versa.

And basically everybody is checking everybody else's email.

What may or may not have crossed your mind is who can search that link and test an email... teenagers with parents.  That's right.  If your teenagers suspect you, they will plug in your email on this trustify site.

I read about it on Reddit tonight.

One anonymous teenager checked his married youth pastor's email and discovered the youth pastor's email was on exposed on the site with the message:  "You've been compromised..." He said he was sad and shocked about his youth pastor.

Then, that same anonymous teenager checked his father's email.  He was happy to see his dad's email with the result: "You're not compromised!"  With this news, he was relieved.

Only you know the truth... but the trend on Reddit is showing that many men are having some honest talks tonight with their wives, girlfriends, partners, and significant others in a pre-emptive strike before the special someone in their lives hears it from anyone else.

Seems like some tough conversations are coming for some people... but when it involves kids who have a computer, as it turns out, the computer savvy teenager might be the first to know.
